Can I try LokkBox for free?

Absolutely! We know that once you experience how easy it is to start backing up your data with LokkBox, you'll never go back to your old solutions again. We offer a completely free, no strings attached trial that comes with 14 days of use and 10GB of storage.

What do I need in order to use LokkBox?

All you need is an internet connection. There's no need to purchase expensive, unreliable backup hardware, software, and/or media.

How long does an online backup take?

The initial backup always takes the longest, and can vary from minutes, hours, or days, depending on the volume of data being backed up. After the first full backup, our server compares its file store with the files on your computer and backs up only those files that have been modified since the last backup. This helps to minimize bandwidth requirements and can take as little as two minutes, depending on how much the data has changed since the previous backup. Transfer speeds depend on the speed of your internet connection.

What if I already have a backup system?

Even if you are currently backuping up to tape, disk, NAS or other form of media, more than likely, the process is not completely automated and is subject to a much higher rate of failure than the LokkBox online backup service. In the case of older backup strategies such as tape, someone must change out the tapes periodically and manually certify that completed backups were successful. Our solution eliminates this tedious process. Backups with LokkBox are 100% automated and backup reports are sent by email to recipients of your choice. Also, with LokkBox, you can retrieve or verify your files on our servers from virtually any location in the world.

Plus, traditional, onsite backup systems cannot provide adequate protection against theft, fire, or any other form of local system failure.

Where do I sign up for an account?

You can create a trial account and, if you decide you'd like to purchase a subscription, you can upgrade from within your My Account Dashboard. We believe you should have the opportunity to test our product before making a purchase. Don't worry - If you're already convinced you want to sign up, you can do that too.

Is LokkBox SAS 70 certified?

Yes, our data centers hold SAS 70 Type II certifications. We pride ourselves on our level of security and control and this certification is very important to us.

How secure are online backups with LokkBox?

Our product was designed around keeping your data secure. You specify an encryption key to encrypt all of your files before they're transmitted to our servers and we have no knowledge of your encryption key. Your data is then compressed and transmitted over an encrypted 128-bit SSL channel.

The encryption key you generate is the only means for decrypting your data. Unlike tapes, there is no physical media that could be stolen or damaged.

What operating systems do you support?

Our product can be installed on any of the following: Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7, Linux Kernel 2.4 or above, Novell NetWare 6.0 or 6.5, Sun Solaris 2.x or above, AIX, HP-UX, FreeBSD, Mac OS X 10.3.4 or above, and any other operating system with the Java2 Runtime Environment 1.4.0 or above.

What other applications and databases does LokkBox support?

We support all of the following: Microsoft Exchange Server 2000/2003/2007, Microsoft SQL Server 7.0/2000/2005, Lotus Domino/Lotus Notes 5.0 or above, Oracle 8i or above, Outlook/Outlook Express (i.e., *.pst, *.dbx, and *.wab), Common Document Files (i.e., *.doc and *.xls), Windows System State (all except Vista and 2008 Server), Windows NTFS access privileges, Linux access privileges and modes, Mac OS X metadata and resource forks.

How many languages does LokkBox support?

The LokkBox Online Backup Manager client currently supports 30 languages and counting!

Is there an upfront cost to start using LokkBox?

No. We only charge on a subscription-based model and there are never any setup fees or equipment to purchase. In the event you wish to perform Microsoft Exchange individual brick-level mailbox backups, there is a one-time license fee per mailbox that you wish to backup.

What if my storage needs change?

No problem. We like to keep things simple. You can increase or decrease your storage plan at any time.

How can I pay for my subscription?

We accept all major credit cards and bill monthly or annually - it's up to you! We also provide an incentive of one month free for annual, advance payments. NET30 invoicing terms with prior credit approval and purchase order are also available.

Do you offer discounted pricing if I have multiple locations?

Definitely. LokkBox is always ready to create a customized pricing scheme for you based on volume. Please contact our sales team for more information.
